ADRIANA PERERA

Adriana Perera is an accomplished educator, pianist, composer, and music scholar with extensive experience in higher education. She holds a Doctorate in Theology with a focus on worship, along with master’s degrees in Composition by Belmont University and in Music Theory, Solfège, and Piano Performance by the Conservatory of Valencia, Spain.

She has served as Chair of the Department of Music at Andrews University, MI; Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Oakwood University, AL; and Chair of the J. S. Bach Conservatory in Sagunto, Spain. Additionally, Adriana was a piano professor at Sagunto, Oakwood, and Andrews University.

As a prolific composer, Adriana has created numerous cantatas and oratorios for choir and orchestra, as well as many pieces for soloists and chamber ensembles, both vocal and instrumental.

Her work reflects a deep commitment to the art and craft of music, with a particular interest in setting Scripture to music.

Adriana is also an international speaker and author, having published several articles and two books on music and worship: En espíritu y en verdad (Pacific Press Publishing Association, 2013) and More Than Music: Worship (Biblio Publishing, 2017).

In 2019, she founded the Andrews University International Center for Worship and Music, followed by the establishment of the Loma Linda Institute of Worship in 2023.
