Can anyone participate in this competition?
There are age categories (under 12 and 13-17 years old) as well as residence eligibility requirements. Applicants must fulfill those requirements in one of the following ways:
- Have been born in one of the cities of the Inland Empire (including Claremont and Pomona). For a list of cities in the Inland Empire, refer to Inland Empire Cities – InlandEmpire.us
- Currently reside in one of the cities of the Inland Empire
- Study/have studied in the last 12 months with a teacher in the Inland Empire
How do I apply to this competition?
- Complete the application form on this website
- Record a video of your repertoire and post it “unlisted” to YouTube
- Pay the application fee via Zelle to ieyoungartists@gmail.com. Include applicant’s name in the transaction notes.
- Email your completed application, link to your recording, and proof of payment (transaction ID or receipt number) to ieyoungartists@gmail.com before the deadline.
When will I find out if I have been selected as a finalist?
Results of the video round will be released approximately 1 week after the submission deadline and the selected finalists will be contacted via email. Please ensure that your contact details are correct on the application form.
When will I receive my prizes if I am a winner?
Immediately after the live auditions are completed and the judges deliberate, there will be an awards ceremony to honor the winners. All awards (including the cash prizes) will be given to the winner as the awards ceremony.
Do I need to bring my own accompanist?
Yes, you will need to provide your own accompanist. If your repertoire is written for solo string instrument, evidently no accompanist will be necessary.
